Mark Simpkins - CTO

Mark Simpkins is an artist and activist working in the online space and the co-founder of geekyoto [http://www.geekyoto.com]. He is passionate about society, science, communications, technology and preferable futures. He is currently looking at games and play and how they can be used to make a better world.

He has spoken at Oreilly's Emerging Technology and Emerging Telephony conferences, at BarCampLondon and spoken at Londons' Central St. Martins School of Art and Design on the topic of Civic Software. He has also organised events around the themes of Data and Storytelling and Civic software.

He works as a Technical Project Manager for the BBC.
